i have two of these tumblers and they have ran non-stop for almost 7 months!i tumble rocks in them and never had a bit of trouble out of neither one of the tumblers. they are very fun to use and set up. the only problem is you have to have patience!!!!! i have put all kinds of different rocks and weight in them and so far no problems. when it is hot outside i let a fan blow on the motor during the heat of the day and turn the fan off at night. overall its a great product!!!!

This tumbler is cheaply made and has never worked properly. The two ends of the barrel are not symmetrical enough, causing the barrel to constantly traverse the axles until it rubs against against one of the Teflon stops. This will eventually cause enough friction that the plastic belt starts slipping on the fly wheel and the barrel is completely stopped. The belt design is poor. It should be a chain and a gear not a plastic rubber band. The fit and finish is also poor - the motor does not sit square causing poor alignment between the motor drive shaft and the large pulley that drives all the motion. I paid top dollar for this because I wanted a durable work horse. I have never even been able to get through even one complete cycle (from rough tumble to final polish) with this polisher. The barrel is rated at 12 lbs and most instructions say fill it 2/3 to 3/4 full. The motor is so undersized (and/or the plastic belts so ineffective) that even with the barrel half full the barrel stops every hour or so. This has been nothing but a disappointment from day one. Save your money.

I tumble a lot of Agates and am very pleased with the efficient and quiet design of the Thumler. The wide mouth is ideal for larger pieces. The tumbling action is smooth and consistent. This is a high quality Tumbler for a very reasonable price.This is the best rock Tumbler I have ever owned.
