Description

An ideal starter kit! The Raytech Tumble-Vibe TV-5 Vibrating Rock Tumbler Kit includes everything you need, including one of our most popular vibrating tumblers, used by hobbyists and even professionals. The TV-5 Vibrating Rock Tumbler has an 8-inch diameter bowl that can process about 4 pounds of stones or jewelry quickly and efficiently.


This kit includes a 4-step polishing kit: Silicone Carbide 100/1200 and 700F abrasives, Iolox 50 pre-polish and Raybrite TL polish, enough to process 8-15 pounds of stone right out of the box. An extra bowl is also included for ease and efficiency. Raytech tumblers are backed by a one-year warranty.

    The unit works as advertised. You have to tend to it every twelve hours. Great fun to see the rocks begin to shine. We picked the vibrating unit over the tumbler because we find lots of irregularly shaped agates. Very, very, noisy. Have to keep ours in the garage with two walls in between us. Glad we don't have neighbors to complain about it.

    The tumble-vibe is noisier than I expected but in the garage the noise level is acceptible. The instructions that came with it are very lame and I had to get more information from the internet. The product was new in the box but it has a used appearance to it. The clear plastic lid was scuffed on the top but it came out with a little plastic polish.

            If you have gems in the rough and you don't want to change the shape of the gem as happens in a tumbler then this is an answer to the problem.

            It has some drawbacks if you are not dedicated to baby sitting this operation since you have to change or add grit every 12 hours. It is also a very loud operation as are all vibrating polishers. You will need to put it in a garage or basement do to the extreme noise.

            That being said the results out weigh the drawbacks and it is the perfect machine to do the finer polishing required to the more fragile gems.
            I use this one daily as well as two normal tumblers.
